shows the photographic work of Holger Dülken over the past few years.

The encounter of people in front of and behind the camera using the camera obscura. A game of light and shadow. Beauty wants to show itself, has many facets and emerges from the dark. In the encounter with the self-image, it gives birth to gestures. Intention wrestles with being. The intention shows itself in pausing. Between the pictures the truthfulness. The omission is the poetry of the series. When Kronos and Kairos play together in the field of photographic art, the invisible comes to the fore. It is amazing how photographic art, i.e. the technical reproduction of a moment, produces its poetry.

Holger Dülken's series of monographs from the "Lochbildfotografie" cycle shows a modern visual language with technical borrowings from the historical times of the camera obscura. A unique pictorial language takes us on a journey into the photographer's world of emotions and shows us, contrary to technical advances, the expressiveness of artistic photography.
Through the black and white photography in the style of the perforated image technique, the soul crystallizes out in the pictures in a very special way - the essence is preserved, the insignificant disappears in the shadows and in the blur.
Holger Dülken has his own unmistakable black and white photographic signature.​

Welcome to the first volume of a series that shows the photographic work of Holger Dülken in the last few years.

The meeting of people before and behind the camera using the camera obscura. Light and dark play with each other. Beauty wants to show her pretty face, has many different facets and comes out of the dark. When she encounters the self-image, gestures are created. Intention struggles with being and when they pause for a moment, we can see the intention. Between the pictures is space for sincerity. The poetry of this photo series comes with the things that are omitted. When Cronus and Kairos play with each other on the field of photography, the invisible can emerge. It is astonishing, how photographic art, ie the technology of reproducing an image of a fleeting moment, can create poetry.

The series of the cycle "hole pattern photography" shows a modern imagery applying some historical techniques of the pinhole camera era. A unique imagery takes us to the journey into the author's photographic emotional world and demonstrates the vigor of artistic expression in contrast to technical high development.
In the black and white pictures in pinhole camera style the soul of a person emerges in a very unique way – the essence remains untouched; the insignificant parts disappear in the shadows and the blur.
Holger Dülken's signature style are unique, characteristic pictures in black and white.
Texts and thoughts, which were written by Berlin-based author, director and dramaturg Andreas Neu, provide a framework for this book series. He reflects in a very personal way on the connotations of these photos can evoke.
